The Commissioner for Information in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Aniekan Umanah has promised to partner the rave-making E101magazine in order to showcase the state and its entertainment endowments to the world. Mr. Umanah stated this while receiving the magazine’s crew today at his office.

NEW MASQUARADE ACTOR, GRINGORY DIES AT 70

One of the actors in the popular TV Series New Masquerade has died. Chief James Akwari Udensi Iroha acted as Gringori the comical man servant of Chief Zeburdaya in the TV Series. For his contribution to the media arts in Nigeria, the Federal Government awarded him the award of the Order of the Niger. OON. He was 70 years old.

We learnt that Umanah who was actively involved in Pat’s two albums was abducted by the assassins on his return to his Ikot Ekpene house and taken to an unknown place where he was shot.

COURT POSTPONES ASA’S ‘ALLEGED LESBIAN CASE’ TILL APRIL

Award winning Nigerian singer Asa was to appear before a court today, but did not show up because she was at her base in France.

The hearing took place at court room 23 of the Lagos high court where she was suing the publisher of a Lagos-based celebrity magazine ‘News of the People’ Loye Hamzat for an article that alleged Asa is a lesbian.

AKON SUED FOR $51K OVER UNPAID CONSTRUCTION BILL

Senegalese -American star Akon has been sued for $51,000 for not paying his construction bill. TMZ reports that a local contracting company southern Electric filed a lawsuit against him in Georgia Superior court calming it completed over $344,000 of work on Akon's Georgia Mansion but he has refused to pay the balance of $51,941 on their final invoice.
 After contacting Akon's Mum who was in charge of the project last November, Southern Electric is  suing for breach of contract for the amount allegedly owed, plus interest.

Los Angeles County Coroner officials have confirmed the cause of Whitney Houston’s death.

The singer did not die from drowning as earlier rumoured but as a result of the combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol, family sources say.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that multiple medicine bottles were found in the Beverly Hills Hotel room where Whitney Houston died.
