Pope Benedict XVI to keep title after abdication

Pope Benedict will keep the honorific title of "His Holiness" after he abdicates this week and will be known as "pope emeritus," the Vatican said on Tuesday.

He will wear a "simple white cassock" and his papal ring of office will be destroyed according to Vatican tradition, a spokesman told a briefing.

He will lay aside the red "shoes of the fisherman" that have been part of his papal attire and wear brown loafers given to him by shoemakers during a trip to Mexico last year.

Annie Macaulay-Idibia confirms March 8 as date for Traditional Marriage

Annie Macaulay has confirmed March 8, 2013 as the tentative date for her traditional marriage to Africa’s music icon, 2face Idibia. In a telephone interview with Deejay Rockerfela during the latter’s show on AKBC Radio 90.5FM Afternoon Ride, the dark-skinned thespian said that all roads will lead to Idung Adiakod, Eket L.G.A, Akwa Ibom State on the said date.

Fans have been forced not to believe further dates for the TM after the postponement of the February 14, 2013 date. The Like I posted earlier, their wedding is expected to hold in later date in Dubai.

Again, enfant terrible Osaze Odemwingie attacks NFF, Keshi on twitter

The Nigerian football enfant terrible who is now becoming more popular for his very vocal and punching tweets has is still not happy with the NFF and Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi for being blacklisted from the team. Rocky said her dad told him when money used to get lost in the house, Annie is always fingered and when quizzed, she will say she took it to give to her boyfriend, 2face.

After breaking up for more than a year, eyebrows have been raised and questions asked as to why the relationship which was a cynosure suddenly fell lack a pack of cards. But like I reportedly few months back, (read HERE) they are back and from my findings, they mean business this time.

Enyeama stalls Super Eagles’ visit to Akwa Ibom

Plan by the Akwa Ibom State government to host the victorious Super Eagles in the state has been stalled by the absence of the team’s shot stopper, Vincent Enyeama. The Eagles’ Vice Captain was to lead his teammates to his state of origin but he had since opted to return to his club in Israel in a bid to return to club’s starting XI. The absence of other foreign based stars also prompted the state government to reschedule the victory party. It could be noticed that when Guinness Nigeria hosted the team in Lagos, only Chigozie Agbim, Sunday Mba, Fegor Ogude and few other home based stars were present.

I died for 7 days; Patience Jonathan recounts her ordeal in German hospital

In a special thanksgiving service on Sunday, First Lady, Patience Jonathan, finally admitted she had been ill and that she actually died for seven days during her 6 weeks stay in a German hospital last year. NANS holds 27th Inauguration as Vice President Special Duties commends Niger Delta Affairs and Sports Ministers

National officers of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who were elected at the 27^th National Convention of the apex Nigeria students’ body held from 13^th – 18^th December 2012 in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital have been sworn in. The occasion, which was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Thursday 14^th of February 2013 featured an inaugural lecture by His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Executive Governor of Imo State. Dignitaries present at the historical event included the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students and Youths - Comrade Jude Imagwe, the Vice Chancellor of Afe Babalola University – Professor Sidi Osho, as well as past and present leaders of NANS. In line with NANS tradition, the oath of office was administered on the NANS President – Comrade Adeyinka Gbadebo by the 27th convention chairman, Comrade Khalifa Adamu Bello. The NANS President thereafter administered the oath of office on his exco members who were charged to uphold the general interest of Nigerian students at all times.

The dark skinned Miekpo is a graduate of Accounting from Niger Delta University, WiLberforce Island. She is 6.1feet tall. She was 2nd runner up Uyo Model Search and is billed to do Gulf of Guinea model competition in Port Harcourt this Month. Victorious Super Eagles to be hosted in Akwa Ibom this week

Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama will lead the victorious Super Eagles team to his home state this week. The team which won the AFCON title in South Africa, the first time in 19 years will be hosted by the Delta and Akwa Ibom State Governments before the week runs. They had earlier been hosted by President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday upon their arrival from South Africa, and later by Globacom boss, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr. This has event has had a very intimidating and crazy hype on the media, especially the social media. Finally, today which is Valentine’s Day eve is the D-Day. I visited the camp and the contestants are raring to go. The red carpets stars by 6.30pm while main event kicks-off one hour later. This is one event that surely will be talk of town this season. With performance from Eyo, Invince, John Bernard, Indigenous MaliQ, Mista Xto, Adult Babies, Flexxzy and a host of other stars, the evening is surely gonna rock. President Jonathan in London clinic over Intestinal Problems

An intestinal problem has forced President Jonathan to cancel a planned surprise visit to the Super Eagles in South Africa, medical sources in London said today.

The Nigeria president, who is on a whirlwind three-nation trip to Egypt, the United Kingdom and France, had planned to surprise the Super Eagles in South Africa following their qualification for the final of the African Cup of Nations last Wednesday.

However, in London Mr. Jonathan came down with an intestinal disorder referred to as Amoebic Colitis and he underwent testing at the London Clinic on Harley Street.  The clinic is highly favoured by Nigeria’s rich and powerful.
