Didier
Drogba doesn't want to wait in vain for her love. But for about four minutes,
it looked like he would end up doing just that. The Chelsea star appears in the
music video for Julia Channel's debut single, Forever in a Day.
The
video features recurring shots of an unidentified man standing atop a set of
stars.
He keeps checking his watch, presumably wondering if his date will show
up. But we never see his face. Meanwhile, Channel's does her thing -- walking,
singing and ignoring the throngs of people trying to impress her with their
dance skills.
She
finally arrives, and taps the man on the shoulder. He turns and we finally see
that familiar face. Drogba told the Mail that Channel sought him out for the
cameo role. "I'm really happy to have been invited to be in the video and
I'm very proud of Julia," Drogba said. "She is very professional and
I wish her all the best." Cameos are just one more option for the Chelsea
front-man.
His
contract expires at the end of the season, and it is unknown what his next step
will be. Perhaps he should take a "wait and see" approach. It worked
out just fine for him in Forever and a Day.
