Photos: Entertainment Stars trounce Media Celebs in Celebrity Showdown rematch

A lovely hattrick from Idongesit Amanda gave Entertainment Stars a resounding 3-0 victory over Media Celebrities in the rematch of Celebrity Showdown. The match which was played at the University of Uyo Mini-stadium saw the Entertainment Stars taking the lead inside 10 minutes of the first half and completed the rout before the end of regulation time.

Moses Armstrong who captained the side in the first leg which they lost to Media Celebs was on the technical bench alongside coach Mista Xto a.k.a Mourinho, paving way for hefty and influential Godfada to captain the side.

Playing in the waterlogged field, the Entertainment Stars controlled proceedings and detected the pace of the game from the blast of the whistle while the Media players were a shadow of their old self. The introduction of the likes of Essien Ndueso, Idy James, Udeme Inyang and Family Man didn’t influence the scoreline.

The entertainment team won 5-4 on aggregate after they lost the first leg 4-2 on penalty shootout to the media.

The gold trophy sponsored by Amaecom Global Ltd was presented to captain of the orange-wearing team in addition to N.1m while their winger, Ratiti won the Most Valuable Player award.

The kick-off was taken by the leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Okpolukpm Ette who was the Special Guest of Honour. In attendance were top dignitaries including Mrs. Kinlock of Kinlock Investments, Itoro Colomba of Bridge TV Show, Hon. Skippo of Frinun Oil, Marcel Oformata and his team from Amaecom while the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Pastor Ita Umoh was represented by his aide.

The match was organized by rave making celebrity newsmagazine – E-101Magazine to add fun, excitement, glamour and entertainment to the celebrations of Nigeria at 52 and Akwa Ibom at 25.
