Asteroid, Comedian Sir James plan big birthday concerts


June 2nd will forever be remembered in the entertainment scene of Akwa Ibom as two historic concerts will be staged in honor of two entertainment impresarios. One is The Gift & The Grace with Asteroid at Monty Suites, and the climax will be ‘Yak Isagha’ (meaning Lets Laugh) with Sir James at Cephas’ Place.

The two Entertainment entrepreneurs and showbiz personalities- Ekemini ‘Asteroid’ Bassey and Sir James Essien are amongst the most revered in this part of the clime, both of them have spent an average of a decade doing what they love and know how to do best, which in both cases happens to be very far from what they studied in the university.  Co-incidentally and interestingly, they share the same birth date of June 2nd, and were both nominated for the last edition of Niger Delta Advancement Award which was never held,  with the need for them to be celebrated inevitable, Ntanta Awards came to the rescue with the organization of Akwa-Cross’s first joint celebrity and entertainment awards in music, media and movies with Asteroid grabbing Best TV show for his weekly show Muzik Alve on A.K.B.C and Sir James bagged the Comedian of the Year Award.
 Asteroid is very passionate about showbiz, and his versatility makes him relevant in all sectors of the industry, in December 2011, he led the Board of Directors of E-101 Magazine to discuss entertainment with the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom state, His Excellency Chief Godswill Akpabio CON, where he presented to the Governor the award of the ENTERTAINMENT MAN OF THE YEAR. 
Asteroid is an MC extraordinaire, he is known for planning & anchoring top notch events in Akwa Ibom state, from Album launchings, to Wedding Receptions and Brand Promotion campaigns. Asteroid has a strong hold on the media, he is the Associate Editor of South-South’s first all entertainment magazine-E-101 Magazine. Asides presenting MUSIK ALIVE on AKBC, Asteroid also writes entertainment for Insight Newspaper, Newslink Newspaper, Famous People Magazine and Style Blitz Magazine. His venture in to artiste management & promotions has also taken him to virtually all states of the South, where he has built an enviable working relationship with media personalities on radio and TV. Awards- 2010-Uyo City Awards TV Program of the year, 2011-Niger Delta Advancement Award for Excellence in Entertainment. He is nominated again for the 2012 Best Video Jockey Awards

Asides comedy, Sir James presented Youth Corner on A.K.B.C; he is the Entertainment Editor of Sensor Newspaper and is running Comedy Cross Road on Atlantic FM. Over the years, Sir James rose to become the Chairman of Comedians International in Akwa Ibom, and will be marking 12 years of the mic­-romancing profession. He has a long list of awards from different quarters and his talent has never been in doubt as he has proved his mettle every time he grabs the mic, the last being ‘Sak Sio’ in Lagos which has since shot him to national stardom as he is currently the most sought after Akwa-Cross comedian in Nigeria .
These two events are not to be missed for any reason, as they both line up the best entertainers to thrill their friends and fans, so mark your calendars and get ready to share in God’s Gift & Grace in their Lives and join them to laugh afterwards.
