Kolo Toure, the former Arsenal defender who now plays for English champions Manchester City last week tied the knots with the mother of his two children, Cimene Akassou.

Since Kolo and his younger brother, Yaya (also a football star who served as his Best man) are Muslims, the marriage took place at a mosque, while the couple later went to the registry to sign the dotted lines.

Manchester City’s defender Kolo Toure got married to long-time fiancée and mother of his two children Chimène Akassou on Thursday in the Ivory Coast commercial capital Abidjan, in a ceremony that attracted distinguished personalities from the world of politics and sports.

The wedding took place at a mosque and will continue on Saturday where the couple will sign their marriage documents at a registry.
