Happy birthday to Osaze Odemwingie

Today, July 15 is the birthday of Nigerian football star, Osaze Odemwingie. Born on July 15, 1981, Peter Osaze Odemwingie plays for West Bromich Albion in England. In the early part of last decade, he chose to play for Nigeria, even though he was eligible to also play for Russia and Uzbekistan.

According to Osaze and his fiancée Sarah, they had fixed their wedding date for May 19th, the date of the Champions League final and one week after the close of the Premier League. However, his would-be father-in-law insisted he would not attend if Manchester City survived to the end of the competition.

“We wanted to get married the week after the season ends but when we fixed the date, Manchester City was still in the Champions League and Sarah’s dad, Mike, who is a big fan, said he’s never coming if they’re in the final, which is on that Saturday.”
