The Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement Project with support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) is hosting the Niger Delta region to the 2017 Niger Delta Civic Engagement Forum (NDCEF) with the Theme: Strengthening the Niger Delta through Civic Engagement.
The Mission Director, USAID and Executive Director, PIND Foundation will be in attendance, alongside other dignitaries and distinguished commentators on the Niger Delta. They include Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke – Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hilda Dokubo – Actress and Activist, Ibim Semenitari – Former M.D Niger Delta Development Commission, Charly Boy – CEO New Wave Media & Convener #OurMumuDonDo Campaign. Others are, Ken Henshaw – Activist, Uduak Okon – E.D Youth Alive Foundation, Dr. Kingsley Emu – Commissioner for Budget and Planning Delta State and Emeka Ononamadu – INEC Resident Commissioner, Enugu State.
Niger Delta Civic Engagement Forum aims to bring together key stakeholders in the Niger Delta to identify, strategize and propose solutions in addressing the challenges around strengthening the capacity of Niger Delta government institutions to meet citizen needs and participation in governance.
The forum will also host a short ‘Fair’ for project partners to share their work, build networks, exchange views and explore new strategies. The event will take place from 8 am to 4 pm at Emerald Event Center, 119 Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Monday, November 13, 2017.
