El-Mafrex, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Ice Prince lose out at 2013 MOBO Awards

Akwa Ibom born Scotland based gospel artiste, El-Mafrex yet again lost out at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, having suffered the same fate last year. In this year’s award, he was nominated in the ‘Best Gospel’ category which was eventually won by Lurine Cato. In the ‘Best African Act’ category, Ghanaian singer, Fuse ODG got the nod of voters ahead of Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage, Seun Kuti, Ice Prince and Wizkid. Below is the complete list of winners at the award which was hosted at Glasgow last Saturday.

Wizkid wins 2012 BET Award

Sarkordie, Iceprince, Lira ,Wizkid, Sway in the BET radio room

Nigerian music prodigy, Wizkid on Sunday July 1, 2012 at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles won the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award in the category of Best International Act – Africa, scooping the award alongside Ghana’s Sarkodie. The duo defeated Iceprince, Lira, Mokobe, and Camp Mulla to cart home the statuette. Last year, Nigeria’s music Icon, 2face Idibia also tied fellow Nigerian D’banj as winners in the category.

Wizkid, Ice Prince nominated for 2012 BET Awards

Naija’s music duo of Ice Prince and Wizkid has both been nominated for the 2012 BET Awards in the Best International Artiste (Africa) category.

The award will hold on July 1, 2012 at Los Angeles. Congrats to them.

CONFIRMED: CHOCOLATE CITY ANNOUNCES ARRIVAL OF FIRST FEMALE ACT - PRYSE

Connoisseur.com was undoutedly the first celebrity website to carry the news that Chocolate City which houses the likes of MI, Brymo, Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince has signed its first female act. Now, barely 48 hours after we scooped the news, Chocity have issued an official press release to that effect. Below is it:

It looks like top music label, Chocolate City which is now chaired by Hakeem Bello Osagie has signed their first female act. The label houses Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Brymo and MI.
