Elder
Patrick Albert of The Pioneer Newspapers has emerged as winner of
the Akwa Ibom State Council of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) election. At
the poll which was conducted at the NUJ Secretariat, Information Drive, Uyo,
Akwa Ibom State, Albert had 238 votes while his only opponent, Joe Effiong
could only garner 138 votes. Joe Effiong of The Sun Newspapers has
served in the chairmanship position of the union since 2010. Congratulations to
