Governor's Aide Advocates Grassroot Support for Governor Udom Emmanuel

The Peoples Democratic Party Secretariat in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area was last Thursday locked down as the Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Grassroots Mobilization, Hon Emmanuel Inyang, an indigene of the Local Government Area was received by party faithful and Stakeholders to a rousing welcome by people of the area.

The governor’s aid paid a courtesy visit on the Transition Chairperson of Mkpat Enin at the council headquarters before moving to the venue for the grassroot mobilisation. While in the Chairman’s office, Hon Inyang thanked the State Governor for appointing Lady Ekaette Usip to lead the Local Government Area. He congratulated Lady Usip for emerging as the first female Chairperson of the Local Government Area since the creation of Mkpat Enib and commended the Transition Chairman for her outstanding performance since her appointment as a council boss.
Hon Inyang and the Local Government Chairperson in a convey then proceeded to the PDP Chapter Secretariat, venue for the visit where he was given an heroic welcome by a large number of political gladiators and supporters from the Local Government who were anxiously waiting for his arrival.
The visibly elated governor's aid whose political sojourn started in Abuja the FCT, thanked Mkpat Enin Stakeholders and Party supporters for coming out in larger numbers to receive him, he informed the House that he has been a PDP faithful since 1998 and took out time to mention the numerous capacities in which he has served the party in and outside the state.
He said “In 1998 I was a ward vice chairman of this great party. In 2000, I became a Chapter youth leader of the PDP in Abuja Municipal Council, In 2001 I was elected State Organising Secretary in Abuja. I contested the councillorship elections and won. So in 2004 to 2007 I was elected Councillor in another man's territory. At the end of my tenure in 2007, I participated actively in bringing a new Chairman on board, after the elections, I was appointed me the Supervisory Councillor in Charge of Special Duties in Abuja Municipal Council".
“In 2010, when my tenure ended I was not allowed  to come back home, I was also appointed to serve as the Chairman, Public Privates partnership (PPP) Committee in Abuja where I created an enabling environment for investors to come in".
“In the build up to the 2015 gvernorship election in the state, I was appointed the Coordinator of Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance (ACA) in the 19 Northern states and the FCT. I coordinated the entire northern States and I ensured that all Akwa Ibom Sons and daughters came back to the state registered and voted during the elections, I was here during the campaigns in all the Local government Areas".
“After the victorious elections, the Akwa Ibom people in Abuja gathered and congratulated the governor for his landslide victory at the polls and His Excellency in his magnanimity appointed me to work with him as his Special Assistant on Grassroots Mobilisation in charge of the 19 Northern States and the FCT, to God be the glory!"
He described the event as one of the happiest days in  his lifetime and promised to contribute his quota to ensure that the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel succeeds. He also assured Mkpat Enin people that the Governor has outlined numerous projects for the Local Government Area and urged them not to relent in their support for the Governor.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the PDP Chapter Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Hon Anietie Sunday described Hon Emmanuel Inyang as a son of Mkpat Enin and Akwa Ibom State with a strong passion to serve his people deligently, he said that his passion, hardworking and sincerity are the qualities that attract the State governor to call upon Hon Inyang to work with him.
“Today we are gathered here to receive a very great son of Mkpat Enin, a great son of Akwa Ibom State who has distinguished himself at various levels of service, a man blessed by God for Mkpat Enin whose steeling qualities have attracted the Governor to call on him to come and serve his people in other to move the state forward."
Various dignitaries who spoke at the event, described Hon Inyang  as a great son of Ibiaku Clan in Mkpat Enin whose experience will be immeasurable in making the current administration a success. The stakeholders promised to support Hon Emmanuel Inyang to succeed in his duty post as a Special Assistant to the State Governor on Grassroot moblilisation.
Eminent personalities who spoke at the event include, Hon Jerry Akpan, the political leader of the Local Government, Lady Ekaette Usip, Transition Chairperson, Hon Udobong Ekpo spoke on behave of past House of Assembly Members, Mr. Friday Ayara and Hon Nkereuwem Akai spoke on behalf past PDP Chapter Chairmen. The state Vice Chairman of the PDP Hon Mfon Nkanteen also commended the Governor's aid for coming home to see his people, Hon Udo Sam Umoatan also spoke on behalf of past Local Government.
The Honourable Commissioner for Rural Development Barr. Ekong Sampson  was represented by Hon. Aniedie Ekanem
Other stakeholders who graced the occasion includes, the Transition Cmmittee Chairman of Ikot Abasi, Hon. Ubong Ukwang, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Healthcare, Dr. Charles Mbong, former Transition Chairman of Mkpat Enin, Mr. Ubong Ekefre, a two term Transition Committee member, Eric Ekwere‎, Hon Nkereuwem James, all the 14 ward Chairmen and their Executives, Chapter Executives, Transition Committee members, past councillors, past local Government Chairman and host other personalities were present to add colour to the well attended occasion.
