Don Etiebet used to carry bags for Akpabio. READ 25 punch lines from Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem

Barrister Emmanuel, a commissioner in Akwa Ibom State was on a live television program on AKBC today. Below are some punchlines from the interview.

1. What I can deduce from the well publicized list of 188 PDP defectors is that APC does not have enough men to give them hope of winning any election. And some of the names are repeated, so it is not even 188.
2. All those that have been included in that list were in the APC before the election. All of them (except Ignatius Edet who is the only surprising name in the list) were sympathizers of the APC before, during and after the election.

We have never felt the impact of Otu Ita Toyo in PDP since he left as Party Chairman – Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem

The Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment in Akwa Ibom State, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem recently was live on an indigenous radio station in the state, Planet FM to speak on several important political issues bothering on the state. Below is the excerpt:
How would electorates distinguish between politicians who are selfish in ambition and those who are service-oriented?

I believe that nobody should be allowed to go into public office without some antecedents in service. You must check the records of the person. What has the person been doing? What are the person’s responses to societal ills? What has been the person’s attitude towards what is happening in someone’s environment? What level of contribution has he made to the society? Antecedents of every politician should be the benchmark. Nobody should walk out of the university and become a councillor.

Those struggling to be governor are only good in name-calling – Onofiok Luke

It was a homecoming for Governor Udom Emmanuel as the Eket Senatorial District youths feted him at their annual Mega rally. At the event held at the Eket Township Stadium on Saturday 9th January, 2016, a nominee for CONNOISSEUR MAN OF THE YEAR and the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Barr) Onofiok Luke gave a goodwill message as captured below. Ifreke Nseowo brings excerpts for www.connoisseurng.blogspot.com and www.connoisseur.com.ng

Protocols,
I thank God who has made it possible that we are gathered in Eket Stadium at the Annual Youth Rally of Eket Senatorial District to do what is right, to do what is just. Since 1999 I have played different roles to support government up to this level in my state. For the youths, I started as band boy, I wore T-shirts, we rallied ourselves around others to succeed. In 1999, the youths in line with the elders gathered and said that Uyo Senatorial District should take the position of governor. After that, in 2006 the same youths gathered, I was a band boy, I used to wear T-shirts, I am not brought from afar, I am a homeboy, so I’m telling you history. We supported Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District to have their own 8 years. That was why we had peace, that was why had unity, that was why we had development. Now, divinity, providence, destiny, equity, mandate have demanded that Eket Senatorial District produce the governor in 2015.

Justice John Okoro-led Supreme Court upholds Zamfara governor’s election

Governor Yari

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Governor Abdulazeez Yari of Zamfara State.  Abdulazeez Yari who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship flag bearer and ran against Alhaji Mahmud Shinkafi, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the April 11 poll in the state.
The Justice John Okoro-led panel of six justices held that the petition lacked merit and equally dismissed it. The court pointed out that the grouse of the appellants in the issue was that there was over-voting and that because of that there was substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act. It held that to prove over-voting, the law is trite that the petitioner must tender the voters’ register.
