AKPABIO: A ‘DIGITAL GOVERNOR’ WITH A DORMANT TWITTER HANDLE

Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, undoubtedly the most decorated and award-winning governor in the history of the world is dubbed the ‘digital governor’. But Connoisseur.com feels that His Excellency has failed to live up to the billings attached to the name. To show that he is the ‘digital governor’ in the digital age, he has a Facebook account though he rarely updates his status.

Again, the ever gingering governor has some twitter handles that seems to have been rendered dormant. One of the his twitter handles @Akpabiofor2011 has only 17 tweets, 229 followers while he is following only 20. @GodswillAkpabi0 has 349 tweets, 30 followers, following 13 while the last tweet was 12.19am on February 2, 2012.

We find this ratio really low and we will advise His Excellency to be active in his twitter handles because that is one medium he can really reach the world. We know he may be very busy with issues of utmost state importance but he can use this medium to interact with the masses which he governs. A little comparison shows that President Jonathan and Gov. Tunde Fashola are more active with  their twitter handles. Sir please borrow a leaf.
