THE INK Newspaper can
authoritatively report that the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Commerce,
Trade and Investment Barr Emmanuel Enoidem has gotten the backing of Governor
Udom Emmanuel and other stakeholders of the state to vie for the position of
the National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party which has been zoned
to Akwa Ibom State. Barr Enoidem has last
evening believed to have resigned from the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council to
enable him clinch that position.
The Etim Ekpo born
legal luminary is a teacher of Law having lectured in the University of Uyo
before he was called into the political cycle to serve Akwa Ibom People.
Emmanuel Enoidem is a
foundation member of the PDP having joined the party since 1998 during its
formative stages and his contributions towards the success of the party in Etim
Ekpo Local Government Area is second to none.
His contributions
towards the victory the party has always recorded in all her elections in Akwa
Ibom State have been described as an asset. He served twice as Secretary to
Campaigns during the gubernatorial elections in the state in 2011 and 2015.
Incidentally, these
elections produced a second term for Chief Godswill Akpabio and Mr. Udom
Emmanuel respectively.
This erudite
political enigma is not new to leadership in political circles. He has served
the people of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area as her council Chairman and then
proceeded to serve the PDP as the treasurer in the days of Obong Attah
Governorship of Akwa Ibom State.
His loyalty and total
dedication to the service of the party and the state as well as humanity in
general saw Chief Godswill Akpabio appointing him into his Executive Council
upon his emergence as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2007. Enoidem served
all through with Akpabio till the end of the eight year tenure of that
administration.
During that time,
this Lawyer of the finest cut was still at home with his people. THE INK can
report on good authority that Enoidem scored so many firsts. He was able to
ensure that he replicated the good works of quality service that he is known
for.
Upon the emergence of
Udom Emmanuel as the Governor, the State Chief Executive Officer found in
Enoidem a worthy ally and then appointed him to serve in the capacity of a
commissioner in the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment. A position
Enoidem is using to advance the industrialization drive of the Udom Emmanuel
Divine Mandate drive.
With Enoidem throwing
his hat into the ring seeking to serve the PDP as her National Legal Adviser,
it is the belief of the people that he will scale through as his antecedents in
political services and beyond are legendary.
Barr Enoidem has many
advantages working for him. Firstly, he has done enough personal sacrifices for
the party, he has helped the PDP in Akwa Ibom achieve stability and his
experience in political party management and administration will be an added
advantage.
As the PDP moves to
reclaim her position from the APC at the National Level, political followers
who spoke with THE INK Newspaper in Uyo are in Unison on the opinion that Barr
Enoidem is indeed the best man for the job.
