Dear Kelly: The Nigerian music star who is breaking boundaries in South Africa

The article below was earlier published on last week’s edition of Community Pulse on Sunday. Music star and former presenter of Muzik Alive, Dear Kelly earlier in the year relocated to South Africa to take his musical career to a new height. Check out the spotlight after the cut and a copy of the Community Pulse on Sunday where he was featured on the front page…

The Akwa Ibom born music sensation Dear Kelly officially launched into the music scene in 2010 with a soul touching single “FREEDOM" which also became the title of his debut album that was subsequently released that same year. He dedicated the album to the likes of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King for putting down their lives for the freedom of human race. Apart from fetching him juicy music deals across the country the video of freedom also earned him the NTA International youth model of the year 2010.

Since then this edgy-styled eccentric music phenomenon has not rested his oars in the wide oceans of music industry. Though he launched officially into the music industry in 2010 his presence in the entertainment industry dates as far back as fifteen years. He came into the entertainment industry as a child dancer, show promoter and TV presenter and now one of the most sought after musicians across African continent.

Apart from singing Dear KELLY also doubles as the CEO of Goldhouse Entertainment, an outfit that has been behind major shows in the state and beyond including the annual Face of Niger Delta Pageant, Ibom Fashion Week, annual Ibeno Beach Fun Fair and several others. His more than 15 years of experience have practically put him ahead of his contemporaries.

According to his words; I am an all-round entertainer. I believe that all units of the industry are interwoven and I believe in the beauty of all forms of arts.  Over time Dear Kelly has for himself fame, fans and critiques alike.
Early this year Dear KELLY relocated to Johannesburg, South Africa, Africa's headquarter of entertainment where he is now based. His latest effort, a collaboration with one of South Africa's finest, Evh'a on the remix of his single 'round the world' is currently enjoying massive airplay.

With his background as a dancer, he is no doubt a delight to watch. Dear KELLY has shared stage with some of the biggest international acts including Wyclef and Akon as he performed recently alongside several international acts at the International Exhibition of Black Music in Johannesburg. He is truly an Akwa Ibom ambassador as he was also the major act at the just concluded 1st Akwa Ibom Cultural and Economic Summit held in Pretoria on the 17th of November. With his fast rising profile in the international music scene Dear Kelly is surely breaking boundaries and gradually taking over.
