Controversial singer Maheeda’s account banned on Instagram

Sometime last night, 27th October, 2013, the infamous Maheeda put up some nude photos of herself on her Instagram page ‘for her fans’. In one of the images, which showed an exposed male member, she expressed that the photo was of a fan ‘worshipping at her church on Sunday’.

El-Mafrex, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Ice Prince lose out at 2013 MOBO Awards

Akwa Ibom born Scotland based gospel artiste, El-Mafrex yet again lost out at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, having suffered the same fate last year. In this year’s award, he was nominated in the ‘Best Gospel’ category which was eventually won by Lurine Cato. In the ‘Best African Act’ category, Ghanaian singer, Fuse ODG got the nod of voters ahead of Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage, Seun Kuti, Ice Prince and Wizkid. The much touted white wedding of Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop Umoh a.k.a Okon Lagos took place today, Saturday, 19^th October, 2013 at Insight Bible Church, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. As usual, I bring you the first set of photos while waiting for the official photographs from the couple. Meanwhile, the wedding reception at Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio Unity Hall, Udo Udoma Avenue is strictly on invitation. That’s why lots of people, especially fans have been denied access into the venue (you can see a lot of people standing outside in the last pix). So his wife’s name has officially changed from Miss Idara Saviour to Mrs Idara Ime Umoh (or Mrs Idara Okon Lagos, no mind me ooo, just kidding). Wish them a happy married life. Congrats. 

Don Jazzy, Governor Akpabio, Yvonne Nelson to bag Nigeria Goodwill Ambassador Award

Happy birthday Mr. Ibu, Eve Esin and Abasiama Etukakpan

Today, 17^th October is the birthday of Nollywood stars John Okafor (Mr. Ibu), Eve Esin and radio presenter, Abasiama Etukakpan. John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu was born October 17, 1960. He is an indigene of Umunekwu village in Eziokwe, Nkanu Local Government Area of Enugu State. Mr Ibu has 7 siblings (4 male and 3 female) sadly lost his father in 1975. He is a graduate of Mass Communication from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu. He got his stage from the movie Mr Ibu in 2004 where he played the lead role. He became a household name after that movie. Mr Ibu is unarguably one of Nigeria’s most talented comic characters in Nollywood.

Former Senegal World Cup coach, Bruno Metsu dies of cancer

The former Senegal coach Bruno Metsu has died of cancer at the age of 59. Known as "The White Sorcerer", Metsu was diagnosed with colon cancer in July 2012 having replaced Diego Maradona as coach of Al Wasl in Dubai. The disease is said to have spread to his lungs and liver. He died at a clinic in his home town of Coudekerque-Village in northern France. Metsu achieved worldwide fame by coaching Senegal to a 1-0 win over the defending world champions France in the opening game of the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea. Senegal reached the last eight and also got to the Africa Cup of Nations final in the same year. R.I.P Metsu.

How did you meet her?

Iniobong Monday: It was on a Tuesday, 4^th of January, 2005. I went to school to seek admission in to the University of Uyo. I went to my potential department, Communication Arts  and I saw 5 ladies standing. I was quite young. I think I was 19 at that time. I saw one dark, tall, slim and gorgeous lady standing. I’ve never been that confident all my life, walking up to five ladies and excusing them to speak to one of them. It was some guts for a 19/20 year old. I spoke with her, we got talking, got to know each other. Like they say, the rest is history.

Nollywood comic act, Ime Bishop Umoh a.k.a Okon Lagos emerged one of the biggest winner at this year’s edition of Nollywood Movies Awards alongside blockbuster movie ‘Phone Swap’. In the award held on Saturday 12^th October, 2013 at Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos and  hosted by Segun Arinze who stepped in for Basketmouth alongside  Dakore Akande, Ime Umoh won the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ and ‘Best Indigenous Actor’ for his role in ‘Udeme Mmi’. World heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and Hayden Panettiere are engaged, the American actress has confirmed. Romance blossomed between Klitschko and Panettiere in 2009 but there was trouble in paradise two years later and they went their separate ways, before rekindling their relationship earlier this year. And on Wednesday Panettiere confirmed rumours of their engagement were true, four days on from Klitschko's successful defence of his world titles against Alexander Povetkin in Moscow.

British-Nigeria kid songstress, Mya K has been nominated for the Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA) for the second successive year.
