Akpabio/Frank Okon: Stalemate, as judge fails to show up

L-R: Gov. Godswill Akpabio, Engr Frank Okon
Another stalemate was recorded on Thursday, July 12, 2012 in the case filed by Engr. Frank Okon seeking to unseat Chief Godswill Akpabio as the governor of Akwa Ibom State as the presiding judge failed to show up for the day’s proceedings.
Justice Abdul Kafarati, the presiding judge of Federal High Court 2 is said to have embarked on a seminar abroad alongside the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court, Connoisseur learnt will also proceed on a long vacation which will last from July 16th to September 14th, 2012.
Accordingly, when Justice Kafarati is back and the FHC vacation is over, a new judgment date will be communicated to both parties.
Engr. Frank Okon, a former SA to erstwhile governor of the state, Victor Attah is praying the court to sack Akpabio on the ground that his nomination form was signed and the January 15, 2011 guber primary was ordered by the then ousted PDP National Chairman, Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo.

  10. Am not surprise. True Justice can only come from God and not anyman. Why shuld the two judge leave for seminar at the same time? The shuld v informed the public abt the seminar long b4 now. Why the delay? This is a clear indication of corruption and injustice. Its totally unfair.

  12. Apostle John Ekpo, what has he done? you see, one good thing that the lousy government has done is ability to sucessfully differentiate the genuine people from the fake ones. we know the pastors that are called of God and those who jumped into ministry out of hunger, the real akparawa ibibio and those who joined only for what they can get, the real business men and even the honest civil servants.
how would rate a father who builds a house but killed the children that would live in the house. what is road construction compared to inocent bloods in the street, of what good is the fly-over in the state ( according to his speech at the commissioning ceremony, he said he did it that people in the state may also see what is called flyover - what a reason for a state project), do you care to find out how much he is collecting every month compared to what Attah was collecting? a state that once was sanctified, now turned to den of thiefs, empowering the youth wrongly only to his advantage - promoting cultism and you are praising him. I know there was a prophet by the name of Eli in the bible who could not see far, I don't want to say that you like Eli, but may be you may want to stay in your alter as an apostle rather than commenting on politics because Jesus whom you follow (by the implication of your title) had nothing to do with the government of this world.....
