Happy birthday to Kanu Nwankwo and Van Vicker

Today, August 1st is the birthday of Nigerian football legend, Kanu Nwankwo and Ghana movie star, Van Vicker. Kanu was born on 1 August 1976. He captained Nigerian’s Dream Team 1 to Olympic victory in Atlanta ’96. He was also a member of the Nigerian national team for 16 years from 1994 until 2010.
Kanu has won a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup Winners Medals and two African Player of the Year awards amongst others. He is also one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup and an Olympic Gold Medal. He holds the record for most substitute appearances in Premier League history, appearing from the bench 118 times.He is also a UNICEF ambassador.

Van Vicker
Joseph van Vicker was born on August 1, 1977. He received two nominations for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Upcoming Actor at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2008. Vicker was born to a Liberian Ghanaian mother and a Dutch father. He is married with kids.
