Obong Attah extols Udom’s political maturity

His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel has lauded the political contributions of a prominent politician, Otuekong Idongesit Udokpo, even as former Governor Obong Victor Attah has praised Governor Emmanuel for his political maturity.

Governor Udom Emmanuel spoke at Mbiatok Itam, Itu LGA, at the traditional marriage between Dr. Ikopima Mfonobong Udokpo, Otuekong Udokpo’s daughter and Mr. Anthony Effiong John.
Governor Udom Emmanuel who was represented by the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Ekong Sampson, recalled the contributions of Idongesit Udokpo to the Akwa Ibom polity, a profile which, he said, explained the huge attendance at the ceremony.
The Governor thanked God for sparing Otuekong Idongesit Udokpo’s life to witness his daughter’s marriage, and prayed God to continue to protect the Itu-born politician and the new couple.
Governor Emmanuel said the drizzle that fell during the marriage ceremony were showers of blessing for the union, as he declared that the marriage has been blessed and ordained by God to succeed. He said the Government of Akwa Ibom State will continue to build blocks of unity and demonstrate love, as the Government remains focused on the 5-point agenda of the present administration in the State.
Obong Victor Attah, who was chairman of the traditional marriage ceremony, was delighted that Governor Udom Emmanuel graced the occasion and identified with the Otuekong Idongesit Udokpo, regardless of their different political affiliations.
Obong Attah was full of praises for Governor Emmanuel’s show of love for the couple and their families and commended the political maturity of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, which he described as exemplary.
The marriage ceremony was attended by prominent personalities, including the State former Deputy Governor, Engr. Chris Ekpenyong, leaders of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio and many others.
