Of the truth, Timaya has upgraded big time. I have listened to some of the jamz off his soon-to-be-released 4th album “Upgrade” and I’m like wow. I personally like “Bom Bom” and “Sexy Ladies” which I consider as club bangers.
Upgrade, a 14 tracker album features VEC (Vector), Terry G and the relatively unknown Attitude. The album will be officially released on June 25, 2012. Keep a date.

Today, June 20, is the birthday of Chelsea FC Vice Captain, Frank James Lampard. He is considered one of the best midfielders of his generation. On May 19, 2012 he led Chelsea FC to their first UEFA Champions League success as he jointly lifted the trophy alongside Captain John Terry.

Local Government Chairman in Akwa Ibom dies after being shot by irate youths


Hon. Okpo Ekere, the transition chairman of Mbo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom, a state in Nigeria has died one month after being shot irate youths.
He died on Tuesday after failing to survive the complications from the wounds he suffered from the attack.
He was shot and matcheted on May 20, 2012 while trying to settle an inter-community dispute.
May his soul rest in Peace.

BBA Stargame update: Zimbabwe’s Housemates Maneta & Roki Disqualified!


Zimbabwe’s Starmates Maneta and Roki have been disqualified from the StarGame for contravening the Big Brother house rules.
The two had a fight earlier on during which Roki poured water on Maneta’s head and she apparently poured cleaning fluid on his face thus inflicting harm on him meaning that both face the axe from the game.
Biggie gathered all housemates in the lounge where he read a brief to them. He said that he had warned the two in vain, Biggie also reminded Maneta that she at one time threatened to stab fellow countryman Roki. A decision to disqualify the two Zimbabweans was reached at and Biggie announced that both had been disqualified and therefore they were to pack their bags immediately.

The players of Nigerian premier league side, Akwa United are currently on strike because of the non-payment of 100% sign on fees (20% from last season, 80% from this season). The strike began last Saturday, a day after the players received their May 2012 salary.

Nigeria’s oldest radio program, ‘Something to Remember’ returns to airwaves on Sunday

I’m not really sure whether it is the oldest, but it is surely one of the oldest existing Radio programs in the history of Nigeria. Though it has been off air because its presenter, Mr. Aniekpeno Mkpanang is now the Director of Protocol to the government of Akwa Ibom State, ‘Something to Remember’ recently clocked 28 and in the spirit of the program’s anniversary, the workaholic presenter who is known in some quarters as “Mr. Perfectionist” will be on hand to do what he knows how to do best.
So, “Something to Remember” will be aired on AKBC Radio, located in the frequency modulated band of 90.5Mhz by 7pm today, Sunday 17 June, 2012.

Lionel Messi confirms girlfriend’s pregnancy, says he wants a boy


We had reported it here on Connoisseur.com that Lionel Messi’s girlfriend, Antonella Roccuzzo is pregnant for the diminutive Barcelona football star.
Now, the 24year old Argentine legend has proven our story factual by confirming the pregnancy and however said he wants a boy.
"I think it will be a boy. We did not want to say anything because we never talk about our private life”.
Hope the presumed boy will not be short like him but will play football better than his dad. Lol. Congrats to him.

Boko Haram bomb 3 churches in Kaduna


3 churches have been bombed by men of Islamic sect, Boko Haram in Kaduna State Sunday morning. The bomb attack took place at Christ Catholic Church (Sabo), ECWA (Wusasa, Zaria), and Shalom Church, Trikania.
So far, about 10 people are reported dead in the multiple bomb attacks.

Faouk Lawan surrenders to police + Video of how he asked House of Reps to remove Femi Otedola’s companies from Probe Report

                      
Farouk Lawan, the embattled Chairman of the fuel subsidy probe panel in the House of Representatives, yesterday surrendered himself to police for interrogation over the $620,000 bribe he had confessed to receiving from an oil marketer, Femi Otedola. He was interrogated by the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, and three other Police Commissioners including the head of the IG’s Special Task Force, CP Ali Ahmaduon.
Mr. Lawan arrived at the office of the police Special Task Force at the Louis Edet House Force headquarters about 4pm, in company of Boniface Emenalo, the clerk of his committee and five lawyers. He was detained briefly before he was taken to the interrogation room where detectives quizzed him for several hours.
According to reports, Mr. Lawan was detained at the Police Headquarters till late Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, this revealing video below shows the moment where Mr. Lawan recommended to the House of Representatives that two of Mr. Otedola’s companies – Synopsis Enterprises Limited and Zenon Petroluem and Gas Limited be removed from the list of companies indicted by the committee for receiving forex from the Central Bank of Nigeria but failed to bring in the fuel.

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure weds in Abidjan

Manchester City’s defender Kolo Toure got married to long-time fiancée and mother of his two children Chimène Akassou on Thursday in the Ivory Coast commercial capital Abidjan, in a ceremony that attracted distinguished personalities from the world of politics and sports.
The wedding took place at a mosque and will continue on Saturday where the couple will sign their marriage documents at a registry.

Dontom features Akon in new hit, releases album tomorrow


Arguably the biggest music act in the Francophone countries, Putuputu crooner, Dontom has featured Konvict Music boss, Akon in a new song entitled “Flexing Dollar”. The smash hit is one of the tracks in his new album titled “The Revolution”.
