Nigerian
star singer, D’banj was few hours ago shot dead in the United States of America
by unknown gunmen. Connoisseur.com learnt
that he was returning from visiting his G.O.O.D Music label boss, Kanye West at
his Atlanta house in Georgia.
A
report emanating from top 24hour new channel, CNN has it that the unidentified
gunmen who were numbered about 3 rounded up D’banj who was driving in a red BMW
2011 edition and shot sporadically in to the car.
D’banj
was rushed to Saint Joseph'sHospital of Atlanta, Georgia
where he died some minutes later as a result of complications from wounds of
the gunshots.
Her story

A young
lady, Ime Anwana, a Batch "A" corps member, was posted to serve in
the NNPC depot in NigerState. She visited a
friend serving at a local girls secondary secondary in the nearby village of Kaffin Koro and was told the school has
no chemistry teacher.
Ime
volunteered to use her free time on Friday evenings to teach chemistry to the
students - free of charge. While teaching in the school she saw the sorry state
of the student accommodation and took it upon upon herself to do something
about it.
She raised
the sum of 3.8 million naira and supervised the building of a student hostel
equipped with 40 double bunk beds complete with mattresses.
One fateful
day, while riding on a motorbike taxi (Okada) on the way to the project site
she had an accident that killed the Okada rider and seriously injured her. She
spent three weeks in a coma and was bed-ridden for three months. On the NTA
Newsline programme it was shown how the village of Kaffin Koro
rolled out the drums to honour Miss Anwana for her work for them. The District
Head of the village, Alhaji Abubakar Mamman gave her the chieftaincy title of
Jekadiyan Kaffin Koro (Ambassador of Kaffin Koro) and also a piece of land in
the village.
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board
(JAMB) on Friday released the results of the UTME exam which was taken
nationwide last Saturday. According to the Registrar of the
board, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, only 901 candidates scored above 270 – 299; 71,339
made 250 – 269; 601, 151 scored 200 – 249; 374, 920 scored 170 – 199 while 336,
330 scored below 170. Out of the over 1.5million intending
tertiary institutions students that sat for the 2012 exams, 33, 082 were males while
660,522 were females

Fabrice Muamba's consultant cardiologist, Dr Sam Mohiddin, has warned people
not to expect the Bolton midfielder to make a
rapid recovery.
Mohiddin admitted Muamba's progress had been extraordinary since he suffered
a cardiac arrest at Tottenham on Saturday evening that meant he effectively
died for 78 minutes after his heart stopped beating.
